[March 24] Stupid cat.

[Belle Rousseau]

All she could do now was blink at the man who was supposed to be her older brother, giving him a blank look as he took on the temper of a five year old.

"Why are you making a big deal out of what he does with his own money?" she asked, looking skeptical before her eyes glance down at the mess on his clothes. Suddenly the temper was justified...but only slightly.

[Adriaan van Dijk]

She noticed his clothes.

"Look at this!" He waved his hands frantically, because mere words couldn't express his utter unhappiness with the situation.

As an afterthought, he dug around in his pocket and pulled out a joint. "Got a light?"

She didn't just notice his clothes, she was horrified, fighting not too look as shocked as she felt and...failing. By leaps and bounds. Had he even looked down yet? She was pretty certain he would be in tears if he had.

"I-It's not that ba--" she starts, only for her words to die in her throat when he pulls out an admittedly very well put together joint, her eyes nearly bugging out in horror. The only way to describe the next sound coming from her being an audible keysmash as she attempted to push his hands back into his pocket.

"No! That's still illegal here, you idiot! Are you trying to get yourself ARRESTED?!"

[Antonio Fernandez Carriedo]

Antonio was about to scold Romano for whatever was his fault. (He honestly had no idea. All he knew was that he had a cat and no one else did so he was automatically rolling in more cute.) "Romano~" he said in a disappointed voice. "You know better than that."

There. That was vague enough to be a good punishment and still get his point across!

He watched Adriaan pull out a cigarette while fighting with Belle. He was happy to see siblings getting along so well. "Buhyoo~"

"Illegal? What the hell kind of a horrible fucking place is this?"

To make matters worse, he had seen the look on her face when she looked at his clothes. He squeezed his eyes shut so he didn't accidentally see and have a panic attack.

Eyes still shut, he muttered at Antonio. "Stop that buhyoo nonsense."

"America. The so called land of opportunity...unless you get caught with illegal drugs and get hauled off to jail, that is," she stated flatly, plucking the joint from his fingers before she precariously shoved it back into his pocket and out of sight. Honestly, this was his third year here and he still didn't seem to remember one simple law.

"Don't pull that out in public again. I don't have the money to bail you out of prison if you get caught."

Thankfully, the only other people around at the moment were Antonio and Lovino and she was confident that neither would rat him out. Not intentionally anyway. That is unless a certain Italian was in a particularly bad mood, which he seemed to be right about now. Sigh.

[Lovino Vargas]

"What?!" Romano shouted, looking absolutely offended. "How the hell is this my fault?! I was just throwing some shit at this cat for spilling my fuckin' coffee and then this bastard comes in and punches it off the table!!" He growled and threw up his hands in exasperation in a very Italian sort of way.

"Dammit, everyone always blames these things on me!" He jabbed an accusing finger at Netherlands. "He's the one always being scary and doing weird illegal shit, why do you guys take his word?!" He sounded a lot like a spoiled little kid, which... he sort of was.

"The hell do you mean, I'm scary? I am so NOT FUCKING SCARY." Adriaan flexed his muscles to prove his point, although his eyes were still closed so he wasn't sure if he was really getting the right effect.

But he bet the Italian was quaking in his boots.

The comment about punching the cat hurt, though. It wasn't a punch so much as an unintentional swipe. Damn Romano's exaggerating tendencies. How unfair was it that he could use all the silly hand gestures he wanted without causing tragedy?

Quickly her head whirled around to face Romano, looking rather taken aback at his rendition of what happened and though she could have said something about throwing things at cats ( there are animal cruelty laws here as well, you know! ), she ended up rounding that accusation on her brother as well.

"YOU PUNCHED A CAT?!" she shouted louder than she meant to, drawing more attention that she would have liked to the situation from bystanders. Not that her brother would notice with his eyes closed. It had only been five minutes and she was already feeling that aforementioned headache coming around.

"I'm not taking sides," she added quietly to Romano, waving off the people now staring with a polite smile.

"I DID NOT PUNCH A CAT." Adriaan flailed his arms around blindly.

"I...may have...accidentally...swiped it off the table. Which is not the same thing at all, and it was only because that Italian bastard couldn't just pay for another cup of coffee and had to disturb my stroll with his unprecedented rage towards helpless animals."

Today sucked.

Quickly, Belle ducked out of the way of his flailing limbs, managing to just miss getting hit in the side of her head before reaching out to pop him instead. "Would you open your eyes! You almost hit me...!"

She could understand why her brother was upset, he was covered in dirt, the tulip in his one hand was not anything spectacular ( in all honesty, she had grown spoiled by his own tulips, anything else just seemed so lackluster ) and she knew that soft spot she had for cute things had been disturbed greatly. And Romano, well...all he wanted was the coffee that was dripping off the table and not have to pay for another, which was completely understandable. But all of it pales in the light of her impending headache.

"Just calm down, okay. The cat looks fine," she stated with a slightly furrowed brow, pointing at the cat in Antonio's arms before she turned to Romano and continued. "And I'm sure if you calmed down as well you could go inside, explain what happened and get another cup of coffee."

Adriaan took a deep, cleansing breath and opened one eye.

"H-how...how are my clothes?" He was almost afraid to hear the answer to that, but it had to be overcome. He desperately needed to return to his room for some marijuana classical music MANLY SHIT.

[Antonio Fernandez Carriedo]

Antonio was remaining helpfully silent throughout this entire ordeal. He had a big smile on his face and, really, how could anyone expect him to be paying attention when he had a CAT in his hands? Whoever said that cats were good stress relievers was not lying because Antonio felt as calm as a cucumber in ranch dressing. In fact, Antonio would be in heaven right now if he had a tomato. A tomato and a cat, what could be better?

Well. If Antonio also had a monkey. But he'd have to settle for the cat right now. Did Romano just talk or was that Adriaan? Was Antonio supposed to be paying attention? He just continued smiling, "I agree with Belle."

Romano looked smug as Belle turned on her brother, because seriously, none of this was Romano's fault!! Anyone in his position would've thrown something at the cat. It was only an empty cup! Seriously. It wasn't as if he had beat the shit out of it like Netherlands did!!

But he jolted when Belle addressed him, and he coughed nervously. "I still shouldn't have to pay for another fuckin' cup..." Romano walked over to Spain and yoinked the cat out of the guy's arms, holding the cat out as if it were some stuffed animal. "Dammit, Spain, stop coddling it," he muttered, glaring at the feline. Just look at those eyes!! There was no way it wasn't evil!! "It's probably gonna fuckin' kill you or something!!"

The cat just meowed, as if it were the most innocent thing to be born. The fucker.

When all else fails, agree with Belle. This is why she hangs with you, Antonio.

Oh, hello there, brother. Nice of you to decide to come back to the world of light. Belle met her brother's eye with a helpless look before looking back down at his shirt. Yes...it was a mess but nothing that would end the world. Reaching out she patted a few particularly messy spots, brushing off any excess clumps of dirt, there were stains but those could be taken care of in the wash.

"Like I was saying, it really isn't as bad as you think it is," she said confidently, trying to make sure that it REALLY wasn't before he had a chance to look back down.

After clapping the dirt from her hands she rounded on Romano as he plucked the cat from Antonio's arms and stared it down. "And if you tell them what happened then maybe they won't. They have to keep the customer's happy after all, don't they?" She started as she took a few steps over to look at he feline that started this whole mess, reaching out to give it a tentative stroke behind the ear only for it purr and mewl affectionately. "...how sweet."
