Arthur arrived at the dorms and unlocked the door to his room, all ready to throw a fit if by some terrible coincidence he had been placed with Francis. Luckily, when he entered the room, however, it was empty. "Brilliant," he whispered to himself. Still no clue as to who his roommate might be, but by the same token, he would get to choose which side of the room he wanted.
He paused, surveying the tiny room. It didn't really matter, he supposed, as the two sides of the room were identical, but the principle of being able to choose pleased him nonetheless. He threw one of his bags down on the bed to the right, closing the door behind him, and immediately began searching through his things for his electric tea kettle.

Antonio probably shouldn't have slept in on move-in day. After all, he wanted to make sure he got the right side of the dorm room! (His own little suspicious luck!) He lugged his suitcases down the hallway of the dorm while humming to himself. Who could his roommate be? Antonio hoped it was someone he knew, not that he'd mind getting to know someone new, he just figured it'd be all the better if he knew the person!
He rounded the corner of the room, expecting to great his new roommate enthusiastically or be met with absolutely no one. He was not prepared with what he was actually met with.
"Oh," he said, his face falling when he saw his buddy ol' pal ol' friend ol' chum, England. He forced a smile for pleasantries. "If it isn't my good friend, England. I see your eyebrow garden has gotten quite large."

Arthur scowled when he heard the familiar voice, but schooled his features into something at least relatively more benign before turning to greet his roommate. "Spain," he said, crossing his arms in front of his chest. "It's lovely to see you as well." The statement was absolutely dripping with sarcasm. "Would you care for a cup of tea? I was just about to put on a pot." He ignored the comment about his eyebrows.
Okay, as roommates went, Antonio certainly wasn't the worst choice. But he definitely wasn't the best either. The best situation, of course, would be having a single but that never seemed to be an option.

With a heave, Spain lifted his things up and plunked them on the bed on the right (surely England wouldn't mind letting him have that bed). He turned back toward England, still forcing an ever-so-obvious smile. Finding it odd that England was trying to poison him within five seconds of him walking in the door, he replied with, "No thank you, mariposón! I'm not in the mood to throw up tonight."
He looked at the bed that had his stuff on it as well as England's stuff on it. How did England REALLY expect him to set up his side of the room with all of his British stuff in the way? Hopefully there wasn't any food in those bags or this wouldn't be pretty. "Hey, mind moving your things off my bed?"

Oh no. No, no, no. Arthur wasn't going to just let that slide. He let his outrage over Antonio's insulting his tea slide for the moment in order to address the more pressing insult. "That's my bed, you Spanish twit." He walked over to the bed and picked up a few of Antonio's bags, tossing them carelessly onto the bed on the left. "I got here first, so I've got first choice of beds." He picked up another bag and threw it, probably breaking something inside. "And you're not to touch my things, either."

Antonio smiled as he watched Arthur throw his first bag. He might have even thrown in an internal 'Oh, how nice!' if not for the fact that Arthur had thrown a second bag and was now going for the third. His smile disappeared and his eyes widened.
"Hey!" he yelled, frowning at the living and breathing eyebrows that happen to have a person attached to them. "What are you doing?!" Not wasting a moment, he grabbed his third bag and held it tightly and safely. "You could break things!" Antonio refrained from name-calling this time around.

"If something broke from a toss like that, then you obviously didn't pack very efficiently," Arthur shot back, pulling a British flag out of one of the pockets of his suitcase. He stepped up onto his bed and hung it on the wall, taking a moment to make sure it was straight. "Now. See, this is my flag, which means that I've claimed this side of the room in the name of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland."

It was almost as if the flag had been hung up in slow motion. First the tacks on the left, then the tacks on the right and almost as though Antonio had been frozen in time, there was suddenly a big British flag hanging up in his dorm room.
He put the bag he had been holding on the ground and unzipped it. This seemed like a good time to do some reading. Almost instinctively, he pulled out his War for Dummies book and began thumbing through it, smiling all the while. Antonio paused in his reading, lowering the book with a couple of blinks in Arthur's direction.
"That's not staying there, right?" he asked, climbing up on the bed and beginning to undo one of the tacks to help Arthur out. (Four tacks WAS an awful lot to take out on your own, after all.)

Arthur pushed Antonio off of his bed, hard. "I thought I made it clear that I didn't want you touching my things," he said, replacing the tack. "And yes, the flag is staying here. This is my side of the room, and I can put whatever I want on the wall."

Antonio landed on the ground, catching himself on one foot before stumbling a bit. He couldn't even hold a pretend smile anymore and frowned. From here, Antonio had a few choices that ran through his mind as he evaluated the situation.
He could: A) Stand up and beat the everlasting mierda out of Arthur. B) Remember that he's hungry and that there is a tomato in the bag in front of him. C) Kiss him.
Antonio, of course, chose B and pulled the tomato from his bag. Now, his first instinct was to eat the tomato but given his current mood, even a tomato could not be enjoyed. Mourning the loss of his lunch, he took aim at Arthur and chucked the tomato at his FACE.

The tomato threw Arthur off-balance and he fall off of the bed and onto the floor. And straight into Antonio. Extremely insulted at this point, he couldn't restrain himself any longer. Considering himself too much of a gentleman to actually hit his new roommate, especially on the first day of their living together, he instead pushed him again, back onto his own bed.
"Now," he said, tossing the bruised tomato back at the Spaniard, "here are the rules. Don't touch me. Don't touch my things. Don't step onto my side of the room, and if you throw anything at me again I will be forced to retaliate and so help me, Spain will become a British colony. Are we clear?"

Well, no one ever accused the country of Spain of being gentlemanly (if King Juan Carlos was anything to go by) and he had absolutely no trouble pulling an axe out of his handy axe-tote and chopping England's head off.
In his mind, anyway. Though, in his imagination, it was quite glorious to see England defeated by Spain and become part of the Spanish Empire. All hail El Jefe!
Instead, he just went right up to England, put his hand out and touched him. "Touch!" Then he kicked England's suitcase. "Touch!" He was above England's rules.

Arthur just stood there for a moment, looking horrified. How dare he. Regaining his composure, he went to the single window in the room, opened it, grabbed one of Antonio's bags, unzipped it, and dumped it out the window.

...
...
Antonio watched all of his belongings from that bag fall from the second floor all the way to the ground. He leaped to the window and looked out, watching his pink tomato boxers flutter down below. He could still save most of things but what a pain! Antonio wanted to give Arthur the benefit of the doubt and assume that he had just done that by accident but it was really really hard to convince himself of that.
Well, NOW Arthur was going to get it!
"You dumped my stuff out the window, you careless jerk!" he yelled, prodding Arthur with all his poking might just to get revenge for all of his things. "Go get them!"
