It took about half an hour of scoping out the 2nd floor hallway before Vash was convinced that nothing deadly was about to spring out from any of the rooms. Well, the inhabitants of one of the other rooms seemed to be bickering rather vehemently...but as long as they weren't going to intrude into his space or throw teapots at him, he could probably care less.
Vash stalked down the hall and rapped on the door of room 2C several times. Hearing no one inside, he cautiously unlocked the door and peeked into the room. It was small. But at least its layout made it easy to define - and defend - the borders of his territory, Vash thought grumpily, and went in. He would unpack later - after he figured out who this mystery roommate was, and whether it would be safe to let any of his personal belongings near him.

Inhale, exhale. Inhale, exhale... the Austrian thought repeatedly as he slowly reached his dorm room. Roderich was never good at meeting new people. Small puffs of smoke suddenly appeared around him. Ugh, why can't they just tell us who our dorm mate will be instead of making it a surprise?
Before he knew it Roderich had arrived at his destination, sooner than expected. Terror seeped into his legs when he saw the room's door already open. T-that means he's there already! Roderich shut his eyes until they started to hurt. With one last exhale he clutched his suitcase's handle tighter and walked into the room rigidly.
As he entered the room Roderich noticed his new room mate with his back toward him, letting out grunts of disapproval as the blond man scanned the room. I better not scare him...
Clearing his throat he muttered, "What are you doing, just standing there like that? Are you going to introduce yourself?" The Austrian immediately regretted his remarks. Oh, god. Why did I have to say it like that?

[ooc: assuming that Vash was Roderich's next-door neighbor and classmate before Roderich graduated two years earlier. Tell me if you'd rather have a different backstory and I can change it? ] "...are you going to introduce yourself?" Came the inquiry. Vash almost jumped, caught himself - and immediately berated himself for not having detected the intruder's approach. This thought was followed by the odd thought - no, certainty - that he had heard that pompous voice somewhere before. With a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach, Vash turned around. A familiar brown-haired country glared back at him through square spectacles. Vash hadn't seen him since the other graduated from high school two years earlier, and really, could have been perfectly happy never seeing him again. "...what the hell are YOU doing here, Aus-" And then he noticed the suitcase Austria was dragging behind him. Vash sighed. "You can't be serious. Tell me you're not my roommate."

Distaste replaced nervousness as he soon realized who his new room mate would be. V-vash? Out of all people, it has to be him?
"...Tell me you're not my roommate." A frown appeared in the aristocrat's face. I'm not happy about this arrangement either...
Roderich let his suitcase fall to the floor and walked toward his left. He then sat formally on the edge of a bed lounger "Well I'm very sorry to break this news to you, but It looks like I am indeed your room mate. That is unless you got lost and stumbled into this room by accident." But the Austrian knew that the Swiss won't make such an idiotic mistake as that.
"Well, let's just get this over with as quickly as possible. Which side of the room do you want?"
(OOC: Ok, I'm fine with that backstory. I'm very flexible with that ^^ Oh, and btw the side where Roderich is sitting is the right side of the picture, you know the opposite side of the '15-2' diagram... I hope you get what I'm saying...)

"Wha-...YOU'RE the one who's more likely to have gotten lost and wandered in!" Switzerland snapped. "Are you sure you're supposed to be in room 2C?!"
But even as he said that, Switzerland had a sinking feeling. The request for a roommate he had put in had clearly specified "no loud noises, no annoyances, no troublemakers"...and Austria, the damned prissy nobleman, really was none of those. To other people, anyway. And the housing office certainly wouldn't have realized that Switzerland considered the other nation's very presence an annoyance; to them, Austria would have been a perfect match. Muttering under his breath, Switzerland looked away and tried to calm down. As distasteful as this situation was...wasn't it for the best? After all, he did have some experience living with Austria from long before, and the latter, whatever else could be said for him, had manners. Furthermore, Austria already knew from previous experience not to infringe upon Swiss territory or belongings. Switzerland wouldn't have much trouble with him as a roommate, annoyance aside.
"...Which side of the room do you want?" Came the inquiry; Austria had already sat down on the bed to the left of the door. Switzerland suppressed a desire to be contrary and demand that bed, and simply shifted his suitcase as far right as possible. It wasn't as if he cared about Austria's convenience; he just preferred the right side of the room.
"...Do as you like. Just stay away from my stuff." Switzerland growled, then felt that such a remark was too open to interpretation - after all, he had heard plenty of horror stories about college roommates - and added, "And if you get on my nerves , I reserve the right to shoot you."

Much to his surprise the Swiss obliged to his orders and took the right side of the bed. He's a lot more calm then I thought... Guilt started to seep into Austria. Well, it was my fault to begin with. I should apologize...
Just when the Austrian was about to open his mouth Switzerland replied, "...if you get on my nerves, I reserve the right to shoot you." Roderich immediately went pale. W-what did he just say?
"You... you idiot! Why should you have the right to shoot me? And besides, guns aren't allowed in the school's premises." His brows furrowed together in anger. How dare the Swiss use threat against him! I'm his upperclassmen after all. He should at least give a decent amount of respect to me...
A groan escaped Roderich's lips, "Ugh, just how did we become room mates? I remembered asking for someone that isn't a trouble-maker."

Urge to shoot rising. Switzerland thought. But he shook that idea aside. It would be unsightly if he couldn't even get along with a roommate for a day, even if it was Austria - who apparently, after all this time, still couldn't take a joke. What did he learn in college, anyway?
Switzerland shook his head and went back to unpacking his suitcase, ignoring Austria's indignation. "Because the only trouble I make is for those that deserved it to begin with? I like my privacy, peace, and quiet. You let me have mine and I'll leave you well enough alone. And also - don't you dare bring girls into this room. I've heard stories, and I don't want to know anything about your latest conquests or whatever."
