Ten Facts About Your Character:
- When he was younger, Arthur was top dog. He was involved in his school's student council, and fancied himself in charge of a lot of the other students at the school, hearkening back to the days of British Imperialism.
- Arthur does not get along well with many people, but especially Francis, as the rivalry between the two nations goes back as far as The Battle of Hastings in 1066, which was the last time anyone successfully invaded England. Since then the two nations have had many disagreements and conflicts, and although they are allies today, Arthur can't bury the hatchet and let bygones be bygones. Especially since Francis seems to enjoy harassing him so much.
- Arthur is an absolutely abysmal cook, something he takes a lot of grief for. He does enjoy his own cooking, however. An example of his terrible taste in food is that he often eats baked beans for breakfast. And that he considers them to be a vegetable.
- He is also unhealthily obsessed with tea. His answer to pretty much anything is to put on a pot of tea.
- Arthur considers himself a gentleman, and is seemingly very reserved and polite, but his words can be scathing, and he has a very cynical outlook. Like most Englishmen he's very repressed, and has trouble expressing himself, leading to him being misunderstood a lot of the time.
- Arthur straight up believes in faeries. And unicorns and ghosts and magic. He can see these mythical creatures, and often talks to them, considering them friends of his. He doesn't, however, believe in aliens. That's just ridiculous.
- Arthur considers himself as a big brother to Alfred, having looked after him when he was little. The two had a bit of a falling out (Hello, American Revolution, or as the Brits call it, the War of American Independence), and aren't as close as they used to be, but they're still very close allies. Arthur still cares for Alfred quite a bit, but would never say so in so many words. Repressed English Gentleman style, of course. One of his hobbies is giving scathing criticisms to American movies.
- Arthur has a fondness for literature, especially British Literature. Big surprise, eh? He's inordinately proud that Shakespeare was British, and feels the need to bring up this fact at inopportune moments. Also J.K. Rowling.
- Arthur has a terrible habit of leaving the lights off and not turning on the heat in the winter. He does this to save money on energy, but also secretly because he likes complaining about the cold. The English believe it's better to "shiver in the dark than to swelter in the light".
- Arthur is terribly forgetful, and often loses things, like his keys, homework, etc. He will probably come to class without his homework more often than he would ever like to admit. Hopefully the professors will be lenient and let him run back to his room for it.
A secret he/she wouldn't want anyone to learn about: England actually likes and respects French culture. But he will never admit it.
Favorite Color: PURPLE (It's the color of royalty!)
Anything else?: England is my favorite Hetalia character and I am terrified of playing him poorly. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you think I'm off in some way!!!
