A secret he/she wouldn't want anyone to learn about: Adriaan is deathly afraid of water. (Netherlands gets a lot of flooding, you know. It's quite tragic.) He cannot and will not swim, and will make any kind of excuse to get out of having to. He doesn't even like rain, really.

Ten Facts About Your Character:
- As was said by Belle, Adriaan grew up in a household with a lot of feuds flying around. He was born of his father's affair with another Dutch woman, which is why he got his dad's Dutch last name, while his sister got the prettier French one from his mother. Because of this, he grew up a bit confused and gets very indignant when someone wrongly guesses his ethnicity. Additionally, he had a bit of dispute with his sister in the past, but is now very defensive of her.
- Adriaan is notoriously vain and spends hours slaving away in front of the mirror in order to make his tragically-Edward-Cullen-esque hair look effortless. BUT IF ANYONE ASKS, he'll swear to the grave that he just wakes up looking like that.
- He's very lax about most everything. Religion, excessive marijuana use, prostitution,
underage girls, etc. His attitudes about religion caused him to get into a disagreement with Spain a while back and they stopped being friends for a bit. - The one thing his laid-back attitude DOES NOT APPLY TO is cleanliness. Adriaan is a bordering-on-OCD neat freak. Everything must be clean, in its proper place, and organized for optimum convenience and best use of space. (Another aspect of his OCD-ness is obsessive punctuality. There is no excuse for being late.)
- Adriaan spent his younger years under the dominance of France. Because of this, he may treat Francis with a grudging respect, and has been known to sprinkle his phrases, especially when he's getting worked up about something, with bits of French.
- While Adriaan tries to cultivate the image of himself as a MANLY MAN, that is a bit ruined due to his
fetishfondness for young girls, flowers, ballet, and Miffy. Especially the tulips. He is abadassavid gardener, and HE. LOVES. TULIPS. More than is natural, probably. He can often be found lounging in Miffy-printed boxers and listening to classical music. Only in private, of course. - In order to rescue some shred of his manhood, Adriaan is a zealous football player. (NOT AMERICAN FOOTBALL, DAMMIT. REAL FOOTBALL. PLAYED WITH YOUR FEET.) Additionally, he gets very defensive when people a) diss football or b) call it soccer.
- He has a very strict, very Dutch policy of being brutally honest in every situation. Expect blunt comments, excessive profanity, and unwarranted aggression when he's not being his generally stoic self.
- Another sore sport for him is that he doesn't really have much national pride, nor much to be nationally prideful about. He can get kind of bitter about that, and often steals ideas/words/food/etc from others.
- While he may get into fights with people
while trying to prove he's not a pansyfor totally legitimate reasons, he'd much rather face problems with silence and a I-do-not-approve shake of the head than with violence.
