"Ah, but with all of these people, it would be pretty easy to lose sight of you. Even if you are looking particularly lovely today" Now, Romano, that is how you praise a pretty girl without sounding lame.
Unfortunately, as much as he would have liked to keep trying to get some company for later, if you know what I mean, he was enough of a good friend to give Spain's nose a cautious look. "Are you sure you don't want to put ice on that, mon ami?"

Spain's nose could be BROKEN and Romano didn't even give him the time of day after punching him so ruthlessly. If that was how he was going to be then Spain would just have to spread all of his love to Romano's younger brother! (Where was he anyway? How could such an adorable little freshman be hiding?)
He lowered his hand from his nose and looked at Belle with a smile. "Does it look all right?" he asked her. His voice sounded slightly congested but it was mostly an act. "It feels all right, Francis," he said, leaning over to make sure everyone who wanted one could get a good look at his nose. "Is it crooked?"

...."S-Striking being?", "L-Lovely?".....winking...? ...他妈的。 The blush seemed to slip away from his cheeks as he froze, mentally cursing in his native tongue, and finally heard the implications of the two people talking to him. G-Granted, they were Westerners, and Western customs were ever so different from the ones he was used to. But, from the few trips that he had made before to the city (on "business ventures") he recognized how they were speaking. It was the tone that a boy would use....with a girl
Oh, how it burned him. Why, yes. He was well aware that the long hair and petite frame and the small hands and feet that he had could throw people off. It just took him by surprise each time somebody did. Clearing his throat and trying to look at the situation from a comedic standpoint, he stepped forward a tad and spoke in the least shaky voice he could muster. "Thank you both for your kind words, aru." A-Aiyaaaah. What should I say..!! "L-Let me...um..introduce myself...." He trailed off, seeing as the other boy seemed worried about his nose. Looking on with concern, he truly hoped that the other was okay. Injury on the first day of school certainly wouldn't be a good way to start off.

The weight of France's arm still slung so casually over her shoulder, she leaned forward to inspect the poor man's nose, not that he didn't deserve it. You would think after so long he would learn his lesson but-- this is SPAIN we're talking about. Lessons aren't easily learned when it comes to that thick head of his.
After a squint and a look she gave her head a small shake. "Nope," she responded gently, "It's still a perfectly normal nose."
Of course, at this point she couldn't help but look around Spain to see what Lovino was up to with the long haired student.

Alfred is still giving a round of spirited applause minutes after the professor exits the stage. There are inspired tears in his eyes, almost ready to fall but not really falling quite yet because crying isn't very manly. Every couple of seconds he gives a spirited "Wooooo!" and shakes his fist spiritedly.
Eventually, his palms start to hurt and his voice starts getting hoarse and people are kind of looking at him strangely (not that he cares), so he ceases his blatant admiration of the opening ceremony and gives any staring parties a wink, a smile, and a thumbs up. This school is so awesome!
[ooc: I couldn't resist, despite the lateness...]

It became apparent to Canada his cousin, Alfred, was also in attendance of this ceremony. Canada realised this when someone was yelling out in enthusiasm every once in a while, breaking his concentration. He had been listening quietly, taking everything Professor Pangaea (a rather large man, Canada noted to himself) was saying since he was a new and inexperienced student.
With every "wooo!" his cousin made, Canada felt himself sinking in his seat. He was unnoticed by the students sitting around him, but this was not new to him and at the moment, he preferred that. For one, he knew he and his cousin were strikingly similar in appearance. It would be the end of his hopes of being recognized as "Matthew Williams, the Canadian" if someone decided he and Alfred looked alike enough to mix them up. Or rather, mistake him for America.
Nevertheless, Canada did his best to concentrate on the professors speech. He seemed like a lively fellow, standing on the podium and giving his speech proudly. The professor's Somewhere Over the Rainbow seemed to make Canada feel wistful. Yeah, somewhere over the rainbow. Did he need to be away above the chimney tops in order to be found? That would be depressing.
When the professor stopped speaking, Canada stood slowly, apprehensively trying to avoid those trying to walk around him. He gave quiet apologizes whenever he happened to run into someone, becoming a string of "excuse me"s and "I'm sorry"s. Why couldn't they see someone right in front of them? He was wearing a red sweater, hardly something that blended into the background. Canada sighed dolefully. This may take some getting used to.

As the students began to scatter, Italy remained seated, feeling completely out of the loop. Part of it had to do with the fact that he was dozing off and thinking about lunch while Professor Pangaea spoke, becoming alert only when the professor played Somewhere Over the Rainbow. The fact that he was completely new to Hetalia University didn't help matters either.
And frankly, he was rather hopeless in general.
"Ve~, I'd better find someone I know..." Italy mumbled to himself. "Maybe Romano knows where to go from here!" He proceeded to climb and stand on his seat. "Romano, where are you~? Romano!" he cried, waving his hands in the air and sounding a bit more pathetic than he had intended.

Romano saw the blush zoom right out of the girl's face, and he stiffened. Wait, what?! Did he do something wrong again?! And to make things worse, right when she was about to introduce herself, she got distracted by the sight of Spain. Spain!! Why the hell would she get distracted by him, of all people?
He followed her gaze to notice Spain nursing his nose, and he scowled. Because even he had to admit that everyone and their mothers knew about how weak his punches actually were. What a drama queen.
"What, don't tell me you're still whining about that?" he asked skeptically, raising an eyebrow. "Shouldn't you-..."
Then he was interrupted by a loud and pathetic voice calling out his name. Which meant it was either Spain or his brother. Seeing how Spain was too busy whining, Romano intelligently used the process of elimination.
"What the hell are you doing?!" Romano called back to him, frowning with something that was definitely not concern because true men didn't worry, obviously. "Get down from there, you're gonna trip or something!!" Honestly. Feliciano was just labelling himself as a vulnerable freshman to be picked off. Romano would have to keep an eye on him to make sure creepy guys like France or Spain didn't offer him candy.

"Ahh, Romano!" Italy exclaimed happily, his frantic waving becoming more cheerful. "Big brother, I just wanted to--WAAAH!!!"
Sure enough, Italy's movements caused him to trip, falling head first onto the row of chairs behind his own. He struggled to pull himself from the pile of fallen chairs he had created as he landed. "Waaah, that hurt..." he whined, rubbing his head. "Big brother, help~!"

Spain smiled at Belgium and decided to milk his injured nose as much as he could. "Are you sure?" he asked, his face no longer a very convincing face of pain. He was just going to ask if it was bleeding or if it had grown an extra nostril when he heard something that began setting off his Cute Radar.
Looking around, his senses turned him left...no, right! Was it Romano? Was Romano the source of the adorable signals?
No! Whatever it was was behind Romano! Standing on his toes, Spain could see a certain Italian brother standing on a certain Italian chair being a certain brand of Italian adorable. Did that make sense? Who cares?
"Italita!" he grinned from ear to ear and began walking toward North Italy. His shoulder bumped into someone, it might have been Romano, but he kept going, eyes sparkling.

Italy raised his head. Through the tears welling in his eyes, he could seen Spain walking towards him. Despite the fact that he was painfully tangled in a pile of chairs, he managed a smile. "Spaiiiiiin! Hello~!" he called, all while trying to wriggle himself free.

Romano should worry a little more about strangers such as AMERICA giving his brother candy, since he is currently carrying a bag of Skittles he'd been hiding during the ceremony and looking to share (since when you share, you make FRIENDS, which is something his new room mate doesn't seem to get).
He pokes Feliciano on the shoulder, seemingly out of nowhere, offers the bag of Skittles and asks, "Want some?"
The Skittles are leaking their color a little since they'd been residing in America's pants pocket for a little too long. In other words, they look a little gross, but they taste just as good!

The boy with the injured nose walked away towards another boy...who had just tripped over some chairs. ...Aiyah...are all Westerners so...so...injury-prone, aru? Not to say that he didn't have his own fair share of falls, but it seemed like people were toppling over and clutching body parts left and right! Shaking his head, ponytail swishing slightly, he turned back to the group of people still in front of him; despite his "big-brother" instinct firmly telling him to go help the others.
Clearing his throat quietly and working up something resembling a confident voice, he stuck out his hand (To no one in particular. The cook at the restaurant had told him to do so. He wasn't really too sure why.) and nodded to both the girl with the headband and the boy with the hair-curl. "Nin hao. My name is Wang Yao, aru. I represent China. It's very nice to meet you." He hoped that the confident tone in his voice helped to guide the boy to understanding that he was not, in fact, a girl.
((OOC:.....Must....think...of better way...to subtly reveal Yao's gender.))

Hungary started spacing out after Professor Pangaea (who was much bigger than she expected) started his ukulele rendition of Over the Rainbow. Not that it was bad or anything, her mind was just drifting off to other places...
When she finally snapped out of her slight daze, she looked around and saw that, not only had Professor Pangaea gotten off stage, everyone else was mingling around. Seeing that she was one of the other few still seated, Hungary got up and stretched. A slight breeze came by and she felt for the flower in her hair to make sure it was still in place. The girl scanned the area and sighed, not seeing anyone she was extremely comfortable with, and started wandering about the seats in attempts to find someone she knew.

Spain wasn't just walking over to Italy, he was pretty much leaping. On his way over, a girl with long brown hair suddenly walked in front of him and there was a bit of a collision, sending the two of them falling backwards into a blond with glasses.
"Oww..." he said, sitting up. The ground didn't feel quite right...
Spain looked down to see that he was sitting on top of the girl he had crashed into. Looking down at her, he thought it was odd that she was under--
Oh no! He quickly jumped off of her and reached his hand down to offer to help her up. "I'm sorry!"
